Motorola has unveiled its latest mobile phone called the Moto W7 Active Edition with Gesture control. The handset is a motion-enabled 3G handset that senses the motion of the body, orientation, and hand gestures to perform tasks.

The phone can be navigated with taps and flicks of the hand or fingers. To turn the ringer off on an incoming call the user simply turns the phone over; the same gesture silences the alarm or pauses music. Shaking the phone twice launches your favorite application.

When listening to music shaking the phone left or right will skip tracks, I have often wished my iPhone would do that sort of thing. The handset has a built-in pedometer, MP3 player, FM Radio, and 8GB of optional external memory. Two cameras are built in allowing the user to make video calls and shoot pictures. The handset will be available in Q2 2009 in Asia and Latin America. No word on availability in the US or pricing at this time.
