Verizon Wireless recently announced that the high profile Blackberry 3G Tour from the Research In Motion will be premiered in Verizon (News – Alert) Wireless Communications Stores on July 12.

This Blackberry Tour is the latest to join the Verizon suite of smartphone options, including the Blackberry Storm, the Blackberry Curve 8330 (in both silver and pink), the Blackberry Pearl Flip 8230 and the Blackberry 8830 World Edition. The Blackberry Tour is a 3G World Phone and allows users to place calls to over 220 nations and to connect to their e-mail and Internet in the more than 175 countries where data roaming facilities of Verizon is supported.

The new launch also integrates some popular features that have set the Blackberry phone apart from its contemporaries. These include the RIM push technology based mobile software for accessing emails, instant messaging like IM, SMS and MMS and social networking capabilities, a decent 3.2 megapixel camera equipped with geo tagging and video recording functionalities, state of the art multimedia, an integrated GPS system and full HTML support for Web browsing, all backed up by the Verizon Wireless’ Mobile Broadband Connect tethering Service delivering exceptional back end support for the users.

The new smartphone is also compatible with Verizon Wireless’ V CAST Music on Rhapsody and the VZ Navigator Services. As a bonus, all the Blackberry Enterprises users will also have access to traditional security profiles found in existing Blackberry smartphones making this a highly advantageous business utility solution. The company also plans to launch a model of the Blackberry Tour without the camera function.

It is expected that the new Blackberry 8830 World Edition smartphone and the Blackberry Curve 8830 will be available for $49.99 after a $70 mail-in rebate. Users must sign up for a two- year customer contract for a voice and data plan. The Blackberry Pearl Flip 8230 and the Blackberry Storm 9530 will also be available for $79.99 and $149.99, respectivel,y under similar terms. The mail and Web plans start from $29.99 when appended to any existing national plan. The rebate will be made available as a debit card which they can encash in any establishment which accepts debit cards.

Customers can also place orders for their Blackberry 3G sets at a special introductory price of $199.99, after a $70 mail order rebate. This offer also included the new two-year customer agreement and further details of this offer were made available on the Verizon Web site.
